About Maria:

Born in Poland, but having lived in Europe, Australia and now in the USA, I have had the opportunity to experience great art, architecture and design from many influences. Even though my background was architecture I proceeded to study the art, graphic and interior design.

What was your inspiration to pursue your furniture/design career?

My inspiration to pursue a furniture/design career is the desire to discover new, interesting solutions to contemporary living.

What’s your favorite design tip?

Don’t stress about it, go with our guts and have fun designing!

How would you describe your personal design style?

My personal design style doesn’t apply to my customers. I work with my customers to achieve their unique style.

What do you love most about helping people design and furnish their home?

I most love meeting different people and working with their design challenges. We then work on creative solutions together and achieve some fun and unique results!

What’s your favorite design project that you’ve worked on here at Norwood?

My favorite project is always the one that is current- and every one is different & unique! I have worked on projects that involve all new “start from scratch” design of my clients’ rooms, and some that, work with my customers, we choose gorgeous pieces to go with their existing furniture- to make their home beautiful and comfortable!

After a house fire we had to replace everything from mattresses, pillows, rugs, couch, we also bought a credenza. We had the pleasure of working with Maria. We also had some help from Stacie as well. Everyone from the person who greeted me at the door, the gentleman who calls for delivery, and the delivery drivers, everyone made sure I was well taken care of. It’s white glove service all the way! Our family had just moved to Arizona and were in need of new furniture to furnish our new home. Upon looking around we quickly realized our options were websites or big box stores; until we found Norwood Furniture. Well, it’s been a few years and WOW did we score big with Norwood Furniture!! Our home is everything we had hoped to come true. We have well constructed, furniture – couch, recliners, chairs, lamp and wall clock and a beautiful king sized dual control bed, as well as plantation shutters throughout. Our furniture is from the latest designers and with our own personal design consultant, who was remarkable. We are proud to say we have a gorgeous living space; many thanks to all those involved, from Dena the receptionist, Ray of Customer Service, Maria and Todd, Design Consultants, and the unnamed delivery service personnel. Lastly, I had an issue with an accessory and the customer service representative, Ray drove to our home making an incidental repair onsite-find that type of personalized service anywhere else. After all this— you’ll be just as pleased with your furniture and accessories; you’ll Be never doubtful you made the best decision and be a permanent customer for life as we are. So happy to have a great ongoing relationship and experience with every purchase.

We had been searching for a sofa for a long time and had gone to all of the typical furniture stores (Living Spaces, Ashley, Crate and Barrel, West Elm, Arhaus, RH, etc.) and were disappointed in the quality and/or price in all of the places we looked. We decided to go to our local furniture store – Norwood Furniture to take a look. We had always ignored this place, thinking it would have limited selection and be very pricey. Were we ever wrong! Maria was our salesperson and she went above and beyond to help us narrow our wants/needs/price point and found us the sectional sofa that dreams are made of. The shopping experience was wonderful, the delivery time was very quick and the customer service pre and post delivery was phenomenal. “Maria Palace was wonderful, courteous, and easy to work with. We bought furniture for the entire house. Without Maria it would have been impossible. She was understanding, patient, and insightful. She actually made spending money enjoyable. She always promptly returned phone calls regardless of the reason – seemingly too frequently a lost art in our culture today. Thank you Maria for a job exceptionally well done. The delivery of the furniture went like clockwork. Not only did the delivery truck arrive on time, but the three Norwood employees worked their tails off. It took hours and it was a very hot day, but they never took a break. They were courteous and careful. No furniture items were damaged. To help ensure that there would be no damage to the furniture, the workers padded the entrance ways to the house – something we have never seen before. GREAT!!!! All pieces that needed to be put together were completed quickly and correctly. We were really impressed. We would most certainly buy again at Norwood! It is obvious the store has a culture of efficient and friendly customer service. One day even the owner worked the reception desk something you don’t see very often. Great job Norwood!!!!!”
