Norwood Furniture supports the efforts of House of Refuge to aid in recovery from homelessness with a check for $8550 in September, 2024.

Todd Brundrett is thrilled to present a check to Kayla Kolar with House of Refuge in southeast Mesa for $8550. House of Refuge has been changing lives since 1996, providing safe, stable housing for families experiencing homelessness. Their professional staff works with families to regain dignity, heal from trauma and ultimately obtain permanent housing with Community, Donation, Employment & Education Centers, as well as Case Management.

Norwood and our great customers raised and donated $8,925 to St. Mary’s Food Bank in June 2024.

Todd Brundrett was thrilled to present a check to John Drake for $8,925. This money provided 44,625 meals for our Arizona residents who need a helping hand. St. Mary’s Food Bank was founded here in Phoenix, AZ, in 1967 by John van Hengel.

St. Mary’s was the first modern organization to operate using the food bank model, which spread throughout the US and the rest of the world!!

The Gilbert Elementary Art Education Program is a favorite here at Norwood. Each year hundreds of samples of these amazing young artists’ works are displayed all around the store. The Gilbert Public Schools Art Education Programs vision is to promote student artists to achieve the ability to develop and implement a visual idea. Their goal is to develop a grade-appropriate continuum of artistic behavioral expectations.

The elementary art education program provides instruction for kindergarten through 6th-grade students and utilizes an assortment of mediums and techniques including drawing, painting, clay/ceramics, 3D art, collage, fibers, and printmaking. Gilbert Elementary School Calm Down Room Donation 2019

Norwood made a special delivery of a sofa and rug to Gilbert Elementary School’s Calm Down Room. This room teaches children how to remove themselves from a stressful situation, identify their feelings when they enter the room, and use different tools to calm down and refocus before they return to class. The room is filled with different sensory toys, cocoon seats, a calming art center, mindfulness activities, tools to identify their feelings and try to figure out where these intense emotions are coming from (trauma at home or difficulty at school, etc.) and then give them a chance to refocus their energy and emotions so they can have a successful rest of their day at school.

Gilbert Elementary is one of the first schools in the area to create a Calm Down Room and Norwood was thrilled to be a part of such a wonderful project. Thank you for all you do for our local kids, Gilbert Elementary!

Phoenix Children’s Hospital Foundation Donation April 2018

Norwood Furniture’s staff proudly presented a check of $7100 to Phoenix Children’s Hospital Foundation in April of 2018. Over the course of 3 months Norwood Furniture and our customers raised money to further PCHF’s mission to serve children and families in our community at Phoenix Children’s Hospital.

In 1983, Phoenix Children’s Hospital officially began serving the children and families of our community. Today they are one of the ten largest children’s hospitals in the country. Within 5 years, 1 in 4 Arizona children will have received care from a Phoenix Children’s Provider.

Norwood is excited to partner with such a wonderful organization that helps 135,000 patients each year.

W. Steven Martin 911 Police Toy Drive Donation Holiday Season 2017

Steven Martin to purchase toys for the Police Toy Drive. Norwood also collected toy donations from customers and employees over the holidays. Police officers throughout the valley give these toys to families who they know are in need to help make their Christmas a little brighter. Police Officers also use these toys the entire year to help children and families through traumatic situations.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Donation May 2017

Norwood Furniture presented a check to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital of Arizona totaling $7268.54 in May of 2017. Over 3 months Norwood Furniture and our customers raised money to further St. Jude’s mission to save the lives of children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

St Jude has helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to 80% and won’t stop until no child dies from Cancer.

The Greatest Ever Sale drawing is one of the events that Norwood hosts that shows just how much we care about our customers. In this event, one winner is selected from a pool of entries and wins a $2,000 dollar shopping spree.

March Mania 2015 College Basketball Challenge

This year, Norwood decided to become a part of the March Mania College Basketball Challenge. The winners of the inaugural March Mania Challenge were Mr. and Mrs. Greg Jones, who beat out 40 other contestants to receive a $1000.00 Norwood Furniture gift certificate.

Norwood Furniture is looking forward to next year’s March Mania College Basketball Challenge and is anticipating even more contestants than this year’s March Mania.

Save the Family 2015 Campaign

Norwood Furniture is proud to support the Save the Family organization. Over the past several years, our generous clients have helped aid Save the Family by having the option to provide donations through Norwood.

In this past year, Save the Family has been able to help over six hundred local families, a truly incredible feat. It is an honor for Norwood to be able to support such a noble cause and this past December we proudly presented $4915.00 dollars to Tim Lidster of the Save the Family organization.
