Achieve Impact
Throughout your home you will want to display your belongings that mean the
most to you and your family.
A few simple guidelines will help you achieve displays that are noticed, pleasing
to the eye, and avoid a cluttered look.
- Develop a unifying theme, such as subject matter, color, shape, materials,
etc.
- Instead of placing small objects throughout a room, gather them in a
group according to your theme, and place them on a tabletop, shelf or wall.
-
Develop your group with an add number of objects. Groups of 3, 5, 7 are more
interesting to the eye (as a rule) than displays with 2 or 4 objects in a grouping.
- Balance scale and height when arranging objects on walls. Large walls
with height require larger objects or larger groupings.
- Placement of artwork
and groupings should be at eye level. However you might have your artwork slightly
higher in the hallways and lower in a sitting area when you will view the artwork
while seated.
